There's more to Maui than beaches........
Though there are 20 plus miles of beaches and the pull to lay back and let the sun kiss your skin is hard to resist you'll be glad you made the effort. Hiking the crater at Haleakala will soothe your soul and quiet your heart. It will be one on your most cherished memories of Maui.
Walking into the crater along a ridge with drop offs on both sides is a thrill you'll never forget. The views are unbelievable, the quiet deafening. Not for the weak hearted Halemanu'u trailhead begins at 7,990 feet and goes up and down for about 3 1/2 miles into the bottom and the Holua cabin and campsites.
Words can't describe the experience. See photos by taken by local photographer Natalie Brown during her hike along the Halemanu'u trail in Haleakala. The beauty of Maui is boundless and the peace of entering this other world will stay with you in your heart.
